I didn’t know much about acupuncture until my husband, suffering from insomnia, tried it. He would wake up anywhere from 10 to 15 times a night and was desperate for sleep. After a sleep study confirmed the obvious, that his sleep was disrupted, his doctor suggested he sew a tennis ball in the back of his t-shirt so he wouldn’t sleep on his back. This was hardly the advice we were seeking. By chance, my husband met an acupuncturist who told him that he could help with the insomnia. I was definitely skeptical.  But he decided to give it a try and, after a series of treatments, he was actually sleeping through the night. Still somewhat skeptical, I decided to see what acupuncture could do for me. I was pleasantly surprised that regular acupuncture not only lowered my stress levels, but also reduced the number of migraines I would get. I wasn’t quite sure how it worked, but it did. After years of enjoying the benefits of acupuncture, I was so won over by this ancient medicine that I decided to become an acupuncturist myself.

I graduated with a Masters of Acupuncture from the Won Institute of Graduate Studies and have been certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Five Element styles of acupuncture, I have experience treating patients with various health issues including anxiety and depression, musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, fertility, hormonal imbalances, insomnia, headaches, and pre-menstrual syndrome. I also have additional training in pediatrics, so I treat the whole family, from infants to nonagenarians.

My goal is to provide effective and compassionate treatment and to help each individual patient take control of and manage their health. By listening with respect and compassion, I get to know each client as an individual with unique needs and perspectives. I integrate the physical, mental and emotional aspects of each client into my diagnosis and treatment. I am constantly researching and learning more about Chinese medicine and acupuncture so that I can provide the best care possible.
