I have been getting acupuncture from Ann since January 2014 and it has been a life changing experience! Ann's energy and approach is calming and comforting, adding to the acupuncture experience. I was new to acupuncture at the time that I began seeing Ann and she provided a wonderful experience, explaining every step of the process. Her exam is extremely thorough and she is able to help with a plethora of health and wellness concerns. YOUR INTAKE & TREATMENT PLAN
Once you decide to move forward, we schedule your Intake Appointment. At this visit, you and your clinician will expand upon what was discussed at the free consultation, going deeper into your medical history, your symptoms, and other factors to determine the root cause of your specific issue. You’ll receive your first acupuncture treatment, and you will be given a treatment plan with exact, easy-to-follow instructions. Your treatment plan will include dietary and lifestyle adjustments as well as key supplements to address the root of your particular issue. |
ACTIVE TREATMENT & SYMPTOM RESOLUTION
You’ll return for once-weekly follow-up visits to ensure close support as you begin to feel the positive shifts of the therapy. We want to make sure your treatment plan is yielding the expected results. You'll also receive acupuncture at each visit to ensure that your progress is cumulative and your issue resolved as soon as possible. |
TRANSITIONAL CARE AS THINGS STABILIZE
Once we see stable improvements, we will begin to reduce the frequency of visits. This usually occurs after about 8-12 visits. Initially you’ll come every other week, then once a month for a couple of visits, then you will no longer need regular treatments. Of course, MANY of our patients do wish to continue with “ongoing maintenance” and we are happy to work that out with you, should that be your wish. We’ll also be here in case you ever want to come in for a tune-up or to address other health concerns. |

How do you treat gynecological issues with natural medicine?
The subtle nature of the endocrine system responds very, very well to acupuncture, nutritional therapy, and mind-body medicine. In fact, in our opinion most women’s health issues are much better suited to our form of therapy than more forceful techniques like pharmaceuticals or surgery. Do you give dietary recommendations? Absolutely. You will receive specific dietary recommendations based on your unique needs in addition to our diet plan that we’ve used for over a decade to help hundreds and hundreds of women just like you. Will I have to keep coming forever? The great thing about our medicine is that we find the root cause of the problem and once it is addressed you no longer depend on our treatment. |
How long does it take to work?
We’ve seen it take as little as hours (chronic pain, bleeding) to several days (PMS, menopausal symptoms). Everybody is different and the time prognosis varies. However, most of our patients feel better soon after their first couple of visits. What are your success rates? The vast majority of women who follow our treatment plan and complete their course of acupuncture visits report improvement in their symptoms. What are my chances of success? Bottom line is that your situation is unique and once we meet with you we will be able to give you our best estimate of time and prognosis of outcome. Does it hurt? The needles are extremely thin, and they cause no pain because they are razor sharp. |
